Hey guys just a quick report from yesterday.
My buddy and I got out about 4pm for a few hours of fishing while it was still semi nice out. We weren’t disappointed at all. We stopped in at everts resort for a quick check in on the bite and after a few bags of plastics and jigs and some great advice from steve were were off and running. You really couldn’t even tell it was cold because of the fish biting, which was a good feeling. Our first pass yeilded our first 4 fish 2 of which were short eyes, 1 17 incher and the last was about a 21 incher(pic to follow). There was no real color choice over the few hours we were out with chart/pepper maybe doing a little better than the rest but it’s hard to tell when the fish have the feed bag on like that. We released one more over 20 and had a bunch of short fish as well bringing in our limit of 15-17 inchers.
Now on to the technical part that everyone likes
The depths we were fishing were 13-9 ft following the fish shallower as the light went down, the trick was if you made a pass and caught short fish move in a foot shallower and you were back on bigger fish. As I said no real color choice we were mostly fishing moxies but ringworms produced as well and so did pulse-rs. We drug up and downstream both producing the same quality fish with 3/32 oz jigs.
I do want to comment on the terrova with I-pilot, that is one sweet tool. It makes a big difference in the way you fish.
It was all over a great afternoon on the water and you can’t ask for more than that we are spoiled here on pool 4
