Fished at Dresbach today, caught some nice fish 18-20 inches. Had three fish and figured enough to take home. So, I thought now would be a good time to try the ringworm with nothing to lose. Was using jig and minnow with stinger hook, all fish were caught with the stinger, except the one with the ringworm, inhaled it jig and all. I will be using them again for sure, a big thanks to the board, ya can teach an old dog new tricks. John R

It really makes me smile to read stories like this. I bet that fish thumped the tar out of that worm just like we’ve been telling you.

See, all it takes is giving them a chance. Some guys will use them after they catch fish on their usual presentation and then figure….well, now I’ll give it a try. Others will try it when their regular technique isn’t producing. Others will say…”Here I go.” and take out nothing but ringworms…..that’s what I did…..for four days.

    See, we weren’t kidding.

You, my friend, are hooked just as that walleye was.

    Congrats.

I had a bump on a ringworm Saturday,at least thats what i’m calling it.As of yet no fish, but i’m gonna try them again today at pool 5.Steve from Everts Resort had a very good supply on hand (except chartruese!) ,and he helped me pick some good colors(other than chartruese!).Having yet to catch a ‘eye or sauger on these,i’m excited to feel the massive bump Beaver speaks of when they hit.I’ll let ya’ll know this afternoon how goes it.

Beav—you are right, I’m hooked and it did slam it. Funny how a guy will stick with a couple different things for a long time, This board has made me want to try some new stuff, should make fishing more interesting all the way around. thanks again

Hey! All right. I dont know what Im more excited about. The fact that you caught your first ring worm fish or that you managed to catch some fish at Dresbach! Sounds like Dresbach has been pretty good this spring. Looking forward to getting out. Way to go John!

Hougs….I remember being with a guy who caught his first fish on a ringworm as it tumbled helplessly over the top of a wingdam. I can’t remember his exact words, but I think it was something like…”Holy cow! Did he smack that thing!”

Makes me smile just thinking about it.

I remember when twister tales came out i was using them before they got popular. I caught lots of fish but being new some guys just are of afraid not using live bait. the plastics really have more action, stay on hook better and now they are scented. no wet cold hands ,no spilt minnow bucket, and what you don,t use you keep for another day. and above all you dont have trouble keeping your bait,(worms) from freezing.I hated that after taste when keeping them warm under your tonge and it was hard to talk to without mumbling
