Just wondering if anyone could recommend a quick route to Redwing from Eau Claire.I have never been to Redwing so have no idea where to go,or where the ramps are.Is it Everts that sells supplies?

Also,if your really feeling helpful,I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to mark the “hotspots” with bright orange markers to save me some time…LOL.

    Thanks for any help.

hi Riveratt, just got out the ol map and looks like 94 west to 63 south will go right into red wing. or 85 to durand then west on 10 to ellsworth then south on 63 to rwing. I can only get you to Everetts from red wing, so head down 63 til you come to the first big bridge on the Miss R., that is actually called the Wisc channel. just on the south side of the bridge you will see a ramp you could use that and go upriver, (there is a closing dam just upriver from that ramp, watch the current breaks and good slow. OR I’d suggest going to Everett’s, turn around in that same ramp parking lot, go back across the river and take the first left turn, which will good right along the river shore, follow that for about a 1/2 mile to stop sign and take a left. about 200-300 yards will be the driveway to Everett’s (on left side) it does have a sign there on the corner. boat ramps (3) are very good shape and not too steep, plenty of parking too. Steve Vick is the manager he has snacks, minnows and jigs and lures and will give you the straight scoop on what is happening on the water, he also has map handouts that he will show you whats going on and where. HE does a very good job. I think the ramp is 7.00 bucks and is well worth it, for all that you need and fishing info. hold on I’ll go get his number—

steve is at 715 792-2333, tell him I sent you down there, and watch out for his vicious 4 month old lab pup, he has sharp teeth. I’d call him first and if the conditions are real tough and fishing is slow he will be honest with you and tell you to come a different day, so you don’t waste too much time with travel if things are slow. Hope that helps. Jack.

Just wondering if you spend any time on the Chippewa over in Eau Claire. I usually fish it up by Chippewa or south of Eau Claire but I have done well on Crappies right there in town just down from the VFW.That looks like some good water for some big toothy critters (Musky,Northern). I think this area is closed to Walleyes now but south of the dam should be open to fishing all the way to Lake Pepin. Steve

THE fastest route to Red Wing from Eau Claire is to take 85 to Durand. Then take 10 to Plum City. Go into Plum City and take County RD S to Maiden Rock. Then take 35 up through Bay City and 63 on to Red Wing. Live in Eau Claire and have family in Red Wing. I have tried all the ways and that is the quickest I have found.
