The river may be all up and down lately but the fishing’s been good as you’ll see from these next two photos from a pair of visitors to FTR.
This first one comes out to us from Greg Vandmark. Greg’s a fantastic river angler and he’s doing his best to pass what he knows on to his nephew, Tim Anderson. From the looks of the photo, he’s doing an excellent job of it too!
Here’s the story behind the photo, in Greg’s own words….
“This is 15 year old Tim Anderson from Kellogg Mn.
He’s my nephew
This was June 6
We caught three just like that..
The first one Uncle Greg missed with the net!! Boy did I say a few Blue word’s.. But we kept fishing and this all happened within 30 mins.. Two more 28 inchers….He already has a wallhanger so they were all released…
After he caught them I asked him what he wanted to do he said go some where else so we left the spot after an hour and a half.. to go catch small fish oh well that’s fishing…

Thanks for the pic Greg. That’s one lucky nephew ya’ got there!!
This next one comes out to us from Jon Biederman and is a fantastic picture of a 29.25″ walleye Jon caught and RELEASED (!) on June 2. Jon was fishing the backwaters near Wabasha MN and this particular fish hit a silver spinnerbait in about 3′ water.
Awesome catch Jon!
A big thanks to these two for sharing their success stories with us here at FTR. If anyone else has a photo or two they’d like to share with us here at FTR, simply send the pics out to us as a .jpg attached to an e-mail to [email protected] and we’ll do our best to get the posted here as quickly as we can.
