In the spring one of my favorite techniques is ancoring and pitching jigs, blades. I recently moved from a 14 ft aluminum boat to a 20.5 fiberglass Triton 205. I did not have much trouble anchoring with the small boat, but am wondering what people like to use to hold the larger fiberglass boat. From looking at cabelas and gander mountain, it does not seem like they have much of a selection or anchors that would hold a big boat in that kind of current. What does everyone like to use out there?

big waterspike for bow and navy anchor for back of boat. Navy anchor will cover you from the bow for most applications but there are times you need the spike on the river. Holler at dean- he will set u up-

Digger brand anchor works great for all of my boats from 16-19 footers. Have them on the bows. Been caught in rocks and stumps and much to my surprise thay came out easy. Actaully found them on Craigslist and bought for $25 each. Check it out, while there’s time b4 the Spring rush.

If you have bolders or logs to hook into just about any anchor will work, including the digger anchor. If you need to hold in all conditions and bottom types I’d use nothing but a large Waterspike. They will even hold you in a hard gravel bottom.

I’ve used a digger anchor and like many others have said the thing is worthless unless you want to put 200′ of rope.

I am still sticking with the rictor anchor. Although heavy, there has only been a handful of times that it hasnt held me on the river. With that said I believe its been a couple years since I really HAD to use the anchor, I-pilot’s spot lock has been GREAT!!
