“Do You Know WHO I AM?”

Steve’s not going to be happy about this post, but it erks me to no end.

Why do a few people get upset when they are asked (or reminded) politely to drain their boats and trailers before pulling out of the river onto the ramp?

“I’ve been coming here for twenty years!” A person would think they would have it down pat by now right??

“Do you know who I am?” Personally, I wouldn’t care if the guy was Will Farrel, it’s only being courteous the the next guy launching.

Yeah, it’s going to thaw out today, but that cement is cold and it’s freezing in the mornings.

And it would be different if it was last year when we had the parking Nazi down there.

I also understand that people forget. I have forgotten, but going off and making a scene about how self centered a person is sets a bad example for the fishing world.

As a friendly reminder, please drain your trailers prior to pulling up the ramp. When leaving for the day, please drain all water, including your live well prior to heading up to the bait shop.

Ice is slippery and we have some old farts that like to fish…like me.

Thanks for the moment to vent.

To the fella this morning…watch out for the rocks in the back channel.

Sounds like a heated ramp is in the future…

I slid down the ramp one time complete with truck trailer and boat, and I puckered up so hard that I about sucked the seat cover right off the bench in the old ford. The good news was everything came to a halt when the back tires on the truck hit the river, but it was pretty exciting. So yep, let that bugger drain.

That’s been talked about. It’s going to be a while before those ramps need replacing though. Hot water heat would be nice. Dean’s back would have appreciated it too!

I mean really. Is being asked to drain the trailer enough to ruin a guys day?

I sure hope it’s no one I know.

    As Jesse would say…REALLY??

Entitlement is a hard thing to convince people they don’t get. If you have repeat offenders ask them to buy a bag of salt and sand so you can fix what they just did to the ramp!

When busy, I always decided to just go ahead and pull up to the top of the hill and off the side of the raod so now out of everyone’s way, and then pull the plugs and drain everything.
I can’t forget cause I have a permanent note right on my steering wheel in truck that says “DRAIN PLUG DUMB A**”.
Not transporting any aquatic creatures and not going into anohter body of water.
Then again, with as low as the river has been, I probabaly should be thrashed good for not getting every drop back where it came from

Take the extra minute and make them wait. They would probably appreciate it. WHen it’s cold that’s just part of the loading process.

Yep, regardles of drain plug, when cold, you still have to wait for live wells to drain anyhow. I don;t fish down there in the cold months, or at lest not with my boat.

Anybody who pulls the old “Do you know who I am?” on me, usually gets responded to with, “The guy who’s about to find out how little patience I have for d-bags”.

How about putting up a sign by the ramp reminding to drain the trailer/boat before pulling ahead. It could be placed by the ramp so when you get in your vehicle it is in plain sight. One time this year I forgot to drain my trailer after launching my boat, a sign might have helped me to not forget. As soon as my boat is off the trailed my mind is already thinking ahead to what spot and bait I’m going to start fishing with, so I just forgot.

Thanks Brian. I thought the limit was somewhere between how many could fit on the front deck of the boat and how many could fit in a single photo.

    Stop it Randall.

It’s sounding like there may have been a missing link in the communications. I don’t believe anyone woke up this morning thinking who’s life can I make miserable today…beside maybe me.

    There were plenty of witnesses.

ha ha ha ha me too! I even think I pissed someone off waiting for it to drain. I guess he was in a hurry. Then I thought to myself… why do I need to drain it in the dead of summer?
