Looking to replace my very old handneld GPS. Should I go Lowrance or Garmin? After talking with two employees at Gander Mountain still no closer to choosing. I fish mainly Wisconsin lakes Pool 4 and a few Minnesota lakes (Lake of the Woods). Would also like to be able to use it for hunting trips out west. I want accuracy and chip capabilities and would like to stay within a budget of $400.
Would like to know what some of you like. Thanks

I own the lowarnce Expedition, it works great. It was used in the beginning mostly for fishing with a lake maps chip. I do not like the touch screen portion of it for hunting, for fishing it was great for scrolling through the lake maps. But when walking through the woods with it around your neck the screen is so sensitive that it gets all jacked up and several times while hunting it has even messed with the settings without me noticing. Just my experience with the Lowrances, hope it helps.
