Anyone offer test rides of limit creek rods? Mono dragger, mono pitcher. Looking for a rod like a 6-8 avid without the pricetag. I go through quite a few rods taking buddies out.

Almost all of the rods that I own are now Limit Creek rods, and the few other brands that I have will be replaced in the near future. I highly recommend Limit Creek. No need to spend a lot of money to get a very high quality rod.

sweet! I’ll be there sunday afternoon. I was one of the 2 yahoos that fished in those winds last wednesday night. Fishing was good but boat control was tricky!

I use a couple of the limit creeks one for dragging jigs and I personally love the 8 ‘ 3 for trolling my cranks. Both shad raps and for pullin three ways with raps. Highly recommend them….

Limit Creek currently makes three freshwater spin rods
    a 6’9″ MLF
    a 6’6″ MF
and the telescoping 6’2″ to 8’3″ MLF

They are great rods for under $100 and comparable to a St.Croix Triumph or Premier. I use them guiding for Walleye
and drop shotting Bass. The service from Turk has been awesome.
But realistically, you will not find a sub $100 rod in an
Xtra Fast taper with SC III carbon scrim like an AVS 68MXF.
The costs, materials, design and tooling to make it are too much.
Stop at Everts and give them a fair test and I think you will be pleased at the action and sensitivity for $90. But don’t compare the action to a $180 68MXF…that would be an unfair comparison

I agree Tom, I just want to see how the longest draggin rods feel, and how the 6-6 M feels and how close it gets to the avid for the price.

The 8’3″ drags well and gets your line away from the boat.

draggin 8ft 3 is the way to go for the guy in the front of the boat!!!!!!! I never knew how much I tangled in the boat until it stopped happening

It is my goal in life to have fished enough to give advice on rods the way you have. I know what I like when it is in my hand but do not have enough experiance to know exactly why. Thanks for the goal Tom.

I have two. They are fine rods for the money. But dont mistake them with rods that cost a lot more.

Very True…..I have fished with Limit Creeks pitching and there is NO comparison to the upper end rods for light presentations.
