Well I got to spend Saturday on Pool 4, glad I did. The bite was very good for my boat. During the day light hours I spent all my time vertical. I was just doing the Doo. The saugers were larger for me today found some 17&18 inchers. I thought with the sunshine that gold fleck baits would work well. However I had to go back to pro blue, and pumpkin seed. Target areas were from 12 feet to 25 feet.

I found some nice eyes up in 14 feet that almost broke my wrists when they smacked the Doo. First Picture is of the Doo Twins.

The next two pictures are of the dam side and lock side of the Redwing dam area with the new riprap. The weather Saturday was fantastic. As I watch the snow come down outside this am.

The next two photos are of a Channel catfish which did the Doo with me. This cat mistakened my boat for BKs, I had to tell him Brian put the boat away for the season. If you look real close in the first picture you can see a tear in his eye. He will have a long winter BK.

The last photo is my re-rigging for the dark bite. When the lights went down the bite came on. I had 14 fish to the boat in about hour and a half. No big fish for me, however I got to bring six nice eaters home.

It was good to see Steve and Kari and join in the fish chat that was flowing from the bait shop after dark. Thanks for keeping the light on.

    Good luck fishing.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Looks like a fun day. Makes me feel better – I thought I held the record for most baits laying in the boat…apparently not the case

Was thinking the same thing. Thats a pile of “Ill use that later” baits.

That weather today sure isn’t looking to fishing friendly.

DFresh that may be my record channel I should have weighed it, if not my biggest it was the top two.
And yes it was a wrist wrecker

Yup and wouldn’t ya know my Purple chartreuse tail caught two and on the third I tried to hoist over the boat and snap. I spent five minutes digging for a reload in the dark what a pain in my butt digging through boxes in the dark. Never did find that one and just went to Chartresue white core.

    Always love your reports Vandy!

There’s nothing wrong with carpeting a boat floor with plastics…keeps people from slipping!! LOL!

I had my camera down in a certain area an there were 100’s if not 1000’s of channels swimming around. There is no way I’ll be able to make it to spring.

Holidays are filled with rela-tic visits and such.

Until Jan, I’m going to have to fish through you and the other guys down there.

BK, I do have a problem with carpeting a boat with a cat. Yuck. Nice report Greg.

Nice report Greg! That last photo makes me think of the guy on the street that opens his trench coat to see if you’re interested in buying a watch. So you want Doos, Ringworms, Moxies…I got ’em all

With the snow coming, cutting firewood on Saturday became a priority. Despite that, I was definitely thinking about all the guys lucky enough to be out fishing.

Nice report Vandy! Sounds like it was a great time on the water.

Yes Jim I know that I have more plastics in my boat then at any bait shop or retail store in the area. More colors and sizes also…..it is a big trench coat

Joel I am not very good at cutting wood…but splitting eyes is another story
