Fished the Ford Dam area Tuesday and Thursday and it was two totally different days. Tuesday, the water was raging, lots of flow and the daytime bite was decent. Picked up a few on chartreuse plastics right below the island, right in the current seam, almost vertical jigging. I anchored in 7 fow and most of the strikes were right beneath the boat as the jig bounced downstream from upstream casts. It was nice to get some daytime walleye after only having success near dark on all the previous trips this week near 494. I felt like the guys on the live cam on Pool 4 last Sunday (thanks for the show, by the way, that was awesome, learned a lot just watching while I was supposed to be working, and amazed at your ability to go so long without cursing or picking your noses!)

Thursday, flow was shut way down and the bit was pretty non-existent. There was still the normal low-flow current, but fish must have dispersed or used structure differently. Tried same old places that had produced Tuesday with no results today. A little warmer air temp, but not nearly as fun. I’m hoping that the 7 degree temps forecasted for Monday don’t mean it’s time to pull the spark plugs, but the ineveitable is nearing… The auger is sharpened.

When the flow slows down like it did for you try searching deeper water, I bet they slid towards the main channel.

Thanks for the report from up that way. Been tempted to head that way to see what was going on.
