Had the river to myself this afternoon…Daylight fishing stunk. Marked tons of fish hanging off the deep edges of wing dams but couldn’t get anything to bite. One nice carp on a ringworm. Good luck to those that get out tonight. 
How was the stench? I’d assume NASTY since its not as cold, I found out the hard way about that… NEVER visit the hog farm on a hot day hungover….. 
The empty parking lot is one of the things that make fishing pool 2 so great.
Thought about a year ago they added some taller stacks to the building in the photo that is under the bridge. That was supposed to help with the stench. Well that and city inspector where going to go through special training and get sniffers to detect if it still stunk down there or not. The stench has been nothing short of unbearable at times this summer at the landing and fishing around there. Much worse than what I remember in year past. I believe that is a dog food plant where most of the stench comes from.
Got to follow the meat wagon the other day from the stock yard to where he turned off to go to that plant. Very nice with fresh blood dripping from the truck and guts and what every hanging off the sides. Not much wasted off those cows.
The evening had about the same level of busyness. Only 3 boats out last night. Fishing has slowed considerably for me. Managed 5 last night. No big ones.
Whaaaaaaaat????? Boy o boy being behind that truck sounds like something strait out of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre…
Had no idea they made dog food there.
I work in Newport and get to smell that crap every time we get a N or NW wind. She is ripe today 
It could be worse, I worked next to a crematorium for 4 years. Nothing starts the day like smelling burning bodies at 6am 
Has it got worse this last summer Joe or is it just my imagination?
