Good news people the bite is on on pool 4!!!! I had the chance to get out after drill this weekend for a few hours. I spent most of my time dragging jigs through shallow water and boy I wasn’t disappointed. Nothin above 21″ but there were tons of fish to be caught, I was targeting 8-12fow using 3/32-1/8oz jigs paired with my limit creek rods was perfect.
Sorry no pics as I was by myself. In the 4 hours I was out I caught 47 legal eyes and sauger, all were released.
I want to thank Everts Resort for going out of they’re way to make sure my trip happened!

Sounds like you had a great outing

One should never have to go fishing by ones self

All plastics…Minnows rarely see my boat in the winter. Moxies and pulse-r’s were the ticket for me natural colors were on fire.

Nice detailed report! Care to share colors? Might try to sneak out on Fri or the weekend since I have a deer in the freeezer now!

Since the Turkey Combo is out of Everts on Saturday and I’m betting Jr has an eye on it, you’ll have to look in his boat to see what colors he’s using…and Trumar, good luck with the pm.

    Plastic was Redneck Cracker.

I don’t think it would have mattered much the way they were hitting it but firecracker and oystershell were the 2 best. I got to the point where I would catch 2 fish and switch colors to see if they’d hit something else. I couldn’t find one that didn’t work as long as it was a natural color.

Vandy, the boy was out on Sunday afternoon—he has been chasing bambi after work this week so far. It is good to see the dragging bite taking off so early this year—-I think it is going to be a heck of a winter if Mother Nature cooperates! I want to give a big thanks to Steve and Kari for making this trip happen for the boy. He juggles about a hundred things at once with his Reserve schedule and working and life in general and if it wasn’t for them and their help the boat would have never made it in the water on Sunday. Now I have to go search through my bag and see if I have any Redneckcrackers left

Thanks for the report Chris, I guess maybe BK and I should have fished Pool 4 Sunday instead of Pool 3 and the Croix

One of the things I enjoy most about fishing is the challenge of and learning new waters. Sunday unfortunately was a big learning curve…….should’ve fished Pool 4

P.S. I’m not putting my boat to far away this winter
