( Hit the river yesterday with “JD”… action was shortlived in the am for us at the dam..so it was scouting time..looking for flow…once found we started picking if a variety of fish..crappies on plastics took the vote..we kept a half dozen slabs for the table and waited the day out..I just felt we were sitting in a high potential spot..waiting game began…tick tock tick tock ..tick tock.. and wait….more tick tock tick tock…them “THUMP”…. patience prevails ….plastics ruled the night….purple chartchuse ..chartchuse orangecore..and honey oil glitter were hot..

We boated plenty of 19 to 21 inchers which were released for the tastier 16 to 17 inchers. Both sauger and walleye..

We both had our shots at the bigger fish..”JDs” fish came unbuttoned just out of nets reach and I simply got a couple cranks on a big gal and three huge heads shakes and gone..total heartbreak ..

We fished till 10pm.. we left them still chewing.. man cant wait till friday again..unless i suddenly get sick some time in the next couple days…

Sounds like you got a nice mixed bag for the pan! Gotta love when patients and a plan come together!

Sounds like a great night! Mind sharing what depth you were finding the crappies?

Crappies were really shallow..if I gave a depth It would be a guess around 7 or 8 foot of water… we were anchored and fan casting to shoreline . I guess I didnt pay close attention to depth finder much..
