The only problem with going to Everts is having to leave. Going thru the post-Pool 4 blues sitting here at work right now. It was good to see that the place is back in good hands, again. Steve and Carrie made us feel right at home, and BK, well BK….what can you say?? Had a surprise vist from Lenny and his son, so good to chew the fat with them as well.
Took us a couple days to get into the swing of things and come across a pattern. Small sauger were easy to find, with enough eater size sauger and walleye mixed in for two great fish frys.We finally hit on a good pitching bite on Tuesday morning quickly picking up 6 nice eyes on ringies and paddletails. Things slowed when the sun came up, but we pecked away at a few more by vertical jigging around the dam, before pulling the plug at noon to come home. Boat traffic was pretty light, so moving around was not a problem. Most boats seemed to be picking up fish including some decent eyes, with almost everyone using blades.
And now I need to find a work excuse to get over to that neck of the woods in november or december, and hope for a ride-share invite to get one more Pool 4 fix. .
