Killmo and I have been fishing Pool 2 religiously for the last couple months and have been waiting for a fall bite like this. We have been trying to fine tune our presentations all summer long and it finally paid off. I can’t say I’ve had this kind of success before, not in numbers but quality. There were many 22″ plus eyes caught and netted in a matter of hours. While for us the plastics bite was still a little tough the crank bite was top notch, half coming from long lining and the others from casting to wd’s. The few eyes we managed on plastics were only caught on firecraker pulse-r’s on an unpainted jig. For cranks it was 7a flicker shads and shad raps in no specific color combo. The next month and a half should be great. Here are some photos of our better fish from the weekend.

Looks like some fun fishing. Great looking fish. Ive been sticking mainly to plastics lately with mixed results. Some days much better than others. Maybe Ill have to put some crank baits back in the mix.

Sure looks like a nice change in the weather coming in later this week. Highs in the low 40’s next weekend.

Yeah I have been trying to force myself to stick to plastics lately but the bite on cranks was to good. I can’t wait to get out there again on Friday.
