Well the whole ,(main channel),basin from upper hole in the wall to dam is full of sauger and walleye right now,(shore to shore). I only used two rods to pull three-way cranks today . If you waited 10 minutes for the next fish it was a long time. Tons of 13-17 inch fish right now. Lot’s of milting sauger males. I have no clue where the females are, because they aren’t biting, but that’s just fine with me.

Whithey won Ace walleye division last night with a 5# + eye and I saw several three #ers caught while I was catching Bass.

Lawrence, got a couple questions for you on pulling these 3 ways. Do you try to stay on the edge of the channel, or are they scattered throughout? I am quite a ways south of you, but the fish are still in post spawn mode here, not much on wings with high water flow and very muddy. Do you still have fast, muddy water there?
    Thanks,

The flow and depth have both crashed in the last three days.
A couple of days ago we made swaths from one side of the main channel basin to the other. With the low flow and dropping level we have seen the fish run to the face of the dam. They are still spread out over the basin, but they are much more scattered. Ofcourse that can change tommorrow. A noticeable change in water clarity has followed the lower water and flow, but of course that isn’t saying a lot since it is only a small change from chocolate milk to skim chocalate milk. LOL

    Lawrence,
I made it out here and searched for fish in the channel on my electronics. Found a lot of marks in one of the deeper areas of channel in the area I was in. Could not keep 3 ways down, did not have large enough weights. I decided to try lead core and shad raps to fish the area, and it paid off. Found fish in nearly every bottom irregularity along that stretch, both saugers and walleyes. One over 24″, the rest smaller fish. Kept a couple eaters before mother natures electrical supply drove me from the water. Thanks loads for the tips. I have really struggle to find fish consistently in post spawn this year with the relatively low water levels. I believe that problem is solved! I expect when the flow drops a little more ( it was at 50000 cf/s or more) the wings will fill with fish, but I have an idea this would be a productive pattern then as well!
    Thanks again ,
    Rooster
