I received word from a couple direct sources that the 2 year old project will be finishing up between now and sometime in November.

As the water temperature cools and the sauger bite starts ramping up, uses caution around the guys working and the tows moving up and down stream. Some of the regulars are saying the tows are coming “too” close to them and we did have a “loose” tow hit an anchored boat last year. No one was hurt due to an anchor in sand that just slide downstream.

With a little luck, we’ll get “our” river back soon.

Yeah i was amazed this year when they’d just cut those suckers loose! Can’t imagine being hit by one.

Imagine being 80+ years old, anchored looking down stream and hear a loud noise up at the bow. Then seeing one of those pushing your boat down stream while looking for a knife to cut your anchor rope with.

After taking the tow to Red Wing, apologies were made and an offer to pay for any damage was made.

I know I would have been a little more excited then these two were after it was over. In fact, I might have followed them to Red Wing!

Small chance of this happening again. But just like any other time on the River be aware of your surroundings.

Thank you for the info and update, Brian. Always good stuff to know, before heading out. Stay safe everyone and tight lines.

Not everyone has a trolling motor to put an I Pilot on. Hard to believe, but true.
