Pool 4 9/23

Though the fall bite is not in full swing things are getting better on the river. A few weeks ago when I was out I only managed a handful of decent fish. Yesterday however showed signs of change.

I met up with Millerman for a day of laughs and some trolling. Things got started a bit slow with just one 15″ eye in the first few hours. We then ran into a short flurry of 2 good quality fish. First up to bat was Millerman with a beat up ‘ol 27″ eye. Next up was me hauling in and netting myself a beautiful 29″ Mississippi River walleye. Then things slowed up for quite sometime. After the lull we ran inot another short flurry of fish hauling in a 16″, 20″ and a 20.5″ eye to end the day. We also caught 1 northern and a small flathead. Overall it was a good day on the water and if we’d stayed a bit longer I’m sure we would have got more.

Nice fish, jesse! I was out yesterday, too. Up by Everetts etc. Trolled a bit and had no luck, so switched over to jigging in the hopes that maybe the crappie would be biting if the eyes weren’t. Nope. Lots of white bass biting and that was it for me other than a small sauger. Other than the duck guys, not many guys out really. Water temp was about 58 according to my gauge.

I talked with a fella that picked up 8 legals on Saturday in a couple hour up stream of Everts.

Another fella was pitching the tee-pee rocks.

All I know is the channel cat bite is still going strong and steady in the evenings.

But back to eyes, it’s good to see some fish just before the Everts Tourny this Saturday!

Nice fish guys. Hope we can find some of these this weekend down there.
