Anyone else been thinking about fall river walleyes? Was just looking threw some photos this morning and its got me thinking it can not get here soon enough. There are still walleyes and sauger to be caught on the river right now but in a couple of months the bite will start to change with them putting that fall feed bag on.

Its getting closer all the time.

Had to throw in that last photo. Think that might of been late fall early winter. Still cant wait for it to get here.

I wait all year for mid october through end of November. Sometimes earlier or later can be great, but those are my go to times.

After this hot summer, you bet I’m thinking about the fall walleye bite. Can’t wait to see this summer go away!

Spent 35+ yrs on P4 and fall is my very favorite time for big fish.I was wondering how P2 is compared to P4.
Mike,I think the pond is going to be crazy this Oct and Nov also.Wish fall lasted 6 months like winter does.

Fall just about lasted 6 months last winter. That was fantastic. Mille lacs should be good this fall but if the river bite was going like last fall Ill gladly pass on it.

Of course this is pool 4 Im talking about.

You going to make it to the fall get together on pool 2 Stuart? Oct 9th at Lions Levee.

Oct 9th is my week up north. Then plan on hitting the river till spring as long as I can find a open ramp.
Hope its like last winter that wasn’t.

There are a lot of nice things about pool 2 but one thing it does not have is Everts resort keeping the ramps open all winter.

Fall fishing on the river is the best of the best. Walleyes/sauger/panfish/crappies….can’t beat it.

Pretty sure that was Dec 2nd 2011. Still officially fall on the calendar.

I was out there at the end or last year, and the snow was not even melting as it hit the water. It got so bad that I couldn’t even penetrate the snow with the jig. It might even have been that same night.

Mike W. just told me on Facebook that it might be too cold to fish tomorrow morning…

We braved the cool weather yesterday morning. Caught a few walleyes. Fed a lot of sheepheads and catfish to. A guy has to start getting acclimated to those cool fall temps sooner or later.
