Hey guys. so I fished for a few hours in the rain Saturday morning on Pepin and…pretty slow. Like it has been for me the last few times out. I see some guys are doing well, but sure has been slow for me. I fully concede I’m still learning the River so that probably explains it, but any tips on whether – at least on Pool 4 – this time of year it’s slightly better above the lake or below? Cranks? All I know is whatever I’m doing sure ain’t working, so figure it can’t hurt to ask. I noticed there must have been a tournament Saturday too – anyone heard how they did?

i can try and give some pointers but the best way to learn this pool is to join our local walleye searchers club. we meet the first monday of every month at the Elks club here in rochester and fish the following weekend switching saturdays and sundays (depending on holidays that is) it is $25 for a new member for a calander year. this year we have 4 events left august sept. oct. and nov. we randomly draw partners every month and you cannot fish with the same partner twice in one year. this way you get to learn fishing tactics and tips from different people. you can fish as a boater or a non boater too. you can check out our website if your interested and PM if you have any questions. walleyesearchers.org

For the tips i would say look to the deeper breaks in the lake with three ways and live bait or lead core and or look to the upper end in the river also using three ways or trolling/casting cranks. if you go south look to the wing dams these can be challenging but very good at times. Good luck.

Tuck joined the walleye searchers club this year and is having a blast. He has nothing but good things to say about the guys he been partnered with . Of course he has not had Drew as a teammate yet
