MAny people use many different things. I am sure you will get a variety of replies on here. From 1/4 to 1/8 ounce jigs either something with hair on it tipped with a minnow or something with a twister, or something like a firbeball. They all work just a matter of finding which one works the best.
Use the smallest one that you can as long as you can positively feel the bottom when you want to. Right now with the flow not really moving you should be able to get by with 1/4 to1/8 oz but when the water gets higher (as it will soon) you may need to up it a pinch. Colors are your baby -give ’em all a shot.
I was using 1/16th with purple ring worms the other night. James was using chameleon(SP?). James had better luck, so I switched over. Lost a hawg at the side of the boat at dark. We were working shorelines. If you plan to jig up saugers down deep, then 1/4 oz is for you. Good Luck!
Tuck , I’m going to send you some “wheaties” so we can “pump U up ” for good hooksets.e-mail me @ [email protected] I want all the “dirty” details . your bud, “hairjig” mike mulqueen
Seriously, it would take a long time to discuss how we fish ring worms here on this post. If you guys got time, we are going to be talking a lot about this at the Walleye Searchers meeting Monday night. James, Dustin, (Hougie?)and I + others, will be there to answer questions.
