Saturday on Pepin

Well, headed out early Saturday morning out of Hoksila. Mostly tried crawlers on bottom bottom bouncers and…pretty darn slow. Though it was beautiful out on the water, at least until about noon when it got real hot. Whew. Switched over to cranks around Maiden Rock cuz a buddy in another boat caught a nice eye and a couple crappies. Still no luck for us, and didn’t see much activity in the other boats, but hard to say. May have to try Plan B or C – jigs to wing dams or new locations. But sure was nice on the water. Good luck.

i trolled sunday from 9 to 1, then too hot for us too. Same area. Had all our luck on cranks. no action on spinners, live bait or slow death. We were mixing and matching so speed was not controlled. my thinking is that until the water goes down a bit more and forces the fish onto wingdams, it’s going to be slow. We did get three: northern, 2# eye and a squirt eye.
