Made my way to one of my favorite spots yesterday afternoon. Boy the road was bad mud, ice, water. I only carried one rod with me and I wish I would have brought two. After casting Jig with a very large fathead I only waited about five minutes before thump. I thought nice walleye but quickly changed my mind as 175 yards of eight lb line was dissapearing from my spool too quick. Made the decission to start tightening drag before I would have to go home with no line. I kept turning drag hoping that fish would turn before line or pole broke but the line let loose near the fish. On the bright side I could still fish as I had plenty of line once I reeled it all back on. Only one walleye after that. Lots of ice coming down the river so heads up pool 4, 5 here it comes. Still a good hour or two outdoors and saw a large eagle and three sets of huge turkey tracks. Steve Oh yea today I had to go to the docs office feeling poorly. FLU bummer
