Hey everyone I just wanted to fill everyone in on the bite I found on pool 4 yesterday. No big fish for the day but that wasn’t the main focus for us. We spent most of the morning on pepin trolling around with little success, only to find out by way of close encounter that there is a mayfly hatch going on at the moment. We finally headed into the river to find the fish willing to cooperate.
Before I get into that first I want to remind people to be courteous to others, I saw this(photo 1) while snapping some action pics of my new rods in action. I mean really people I get you’re out having fun but these two jet skis ran right through under power between boats that were fishing with a wide open space to get there just a little bit further up.
Back to the fishing, we spent most of our time in one area dragging jigs and crawlers. We had to sort through a lot of short fish but there were keepers to be found. We talked to a couple of other boats when we got there that said the bite was much better in the morning before boat traffic picked up. We found the bite was still going strong the fish just moved about 50 yards north to escape the traffic. We brought back 5 for the fryin’ pan in about 2 hours of fishing there. Overall a fun day of fishing topped off with some good food and conversation at the end. The last 2 pictures are a couple action shots of my buddy Joe using an 8ft3in Limit creek and putting on a clinic with it.
