to make your Fathers Day weekend a good one.

We were a day late in starting our fathers day weekend at Everts Resort due to a rather hectic work week.

It was MsTrumars birthday Friday but we both had to work late ,then she had a friend getting married Friday evening ,so she got shorted on her birthday outting.

Due to high dirty water we left the boat home and just planned to fish from shore and docks for the weekend.

We wanted to celebrate her birthday and fathers day with a fresh walleye meal , the plan didn’t go quite as we wanted BUT I did manage a PB for the the year thus far.

Taped out at an honest 24.5″, we didn’t starve and still had a great time with friends and family.

PS: it was great to finally meet Bret Clark, a pleasure chatting with you

DUDE! You forgot to edit the background!

Jeff, I think it’s worth mentioning the what you were using and where you were pitching it for folks.

Whether people shore fish or boat pitching, this is a great high(er) water catching example.

I agree… Nice fish! I also agree with Brian. More info, please. I’m a noob on the Mississippi and would like to catch fish during what seems to be a constant flood.

No need to edit the background, I have NO SECRET spots, I was Everts first ramp pitching hair jigs/plastics at the newly formed current seam at the end of the ramp due to the higher water.

After a little flow testing I realized a 3/16oz hair jig with a 225 paddle tail stayed in the “zone” longer than the same jig with bulkier plastics did and as you can see thinking outside the box (as Dean would say)paid of rather well

Picture is the exact jig/plastic combo I used.

Hope all the fathers had a GREAT Fathers Day.

    Welcome to Ido Postman.

Thanks Jeff. Good picture. I didn’t have my camera with me the other day but I was thinking about taking a photo of that seam. Fast water running beside slow water all created by the water flowing over the ramp.

Classic in a non classical way.
