Thought I’d take up a challenge and go to pool 3 today, got down to the prescott launch and it was pretty empty, the guy I was taken out said are you sure about fishing here instead of pool 4? I started second guessing myself if I was really up to it but said sure we’ll catch some fish, I had no idea we would do so well. Caught to first keeper walleye 5 minutes into the day and within a half hour had three in the box and tossed quite a few shorts back, then went to another area and put a few more in the box and bite died off so went to another area and put the finishing touch on the box, all and all, 11 walleyes and 1 nice sauger, guess the bite on 3 is picking up!

Nice bunch of fish! My dad and I followed you into the parking lot and We were thinking the same thing about our decsion. We ended up with 4 sauger and a walleye in the box exceding or lowered expectations as we had never fished any further south than the launch. Be down again in the morning!

Wow, someone always has to find something to urine and moan about. How bout this? It was a legal dang fish so don’t worry about it.

    Great work Dan, keep catching.

    Sandman,

I’m with you, there is always someone out there who feels ” they” have to protect the resource. I take it that guiding is Riverdan’s livelyhood. Do you really think that he would squander a resource that would put him out of business? Any ways, nice fish Dan!

Take your negativity and keep it to yourself, the guy was just asking how big it was, that’s a pretty common question when people see fish. I’m asked that all the time and I have never felt the need to jump all over someone for asking.

Not even sure why I read these threads… all they do is make me envious that I am not closer to enjoy it all. Nice batch of fish, and sounds like a great day. Always cool when you have limited expectations, and then just blow em out of the water. Seems those are the most memorable of em all.

Who said he was “worrying” about anything? It was a simple question deserving a simple answer.

Sorry if I jumped to an inaccurate conclusion on what he was asking. The way the question was phrased as in “nice catch, BUT …..” makes it sound like all the others that have jumping over Dan all spring for his catches. If I’m wrong on assuming that, I apologize.

Agreed, it is hard to know the intentions of others when it comes to things posted on the internet.

Nice stringer Dan! What was producing fish for you? Trolling, jigging, live bait…? I went out of Prescott in the afternoon, saw your truck but didn’t see your boat. Tried jigging and hand line, blanked on both, switched to trolling with snap weights and started putting fish in the boat right away. Most of the Walleye were small but got a few keepers plus a couple of nice Saugers and a Pike. When I started trollin, the only bait that was catching any fish was purple/chrome. Tried just about every other color in the box on the other rod but couldn’t catch a fish on it. About 2 hours before dusk the purple/chrome went dead and did not produce at all.
