Sunday brought another guide trip to Petenwell, usually my last weekend till July over there, unless Miss. floods,

We had a great day with fish almost constantly. Went through 6 dozen minnows like water.

Almost all of our fish were caught slowly moving up, down, and across the little current there was with a wolf river rig with 1/4 oz. bell sinker, and colored hook w/minnow. Bite was steady throughout the day with some nice

bonus keepers coming after 2:00 PM when strong winds started out of the south. Obviously it made boat control and sensing bites tougher, but the feeding made up for it.

Largest five fish went just over 11.5 lbs. Largest was just short of 20 inches. Almost all the larger fish came in 14 to 18 feet of water, with good numbers in almost all depths.

Opps!!! forgot to mention that the transmission/ rearend problem I thought I was having for the last three weeks turned out to be something else as I broke down last night on the way home… Two studs on my boat trailer wheel

had worked loose and the wobbling actually almost wore them through the wheel.. Good news is I broke down right in front of Don’s Auto and Truck (Hwy 21 & 173), just east of Tomah. Already was called and they already have the wheel off, (cutting torch I imagine), and the bill is only $65.

To add to the “Eternal” coolness of the deal, I not only couldn’t drive any farther and broke right in front of the repair shop, but My son has a ballgame in Tomah this afternoon so it won’t even be an extra trip back to get the boat. Not to mention I was fretting the big bill a new rearend or drive train repair could have been.

So with the least little new vibration in the rear of your vehicle check your trailer wheel lugs. Three mechanics, Brian and I all missed them until they were almost ready to tear of the boat!!!!
