Taking the FW to Tresure Island for a comp night stay this weekend. Anyone willing to give up any secret spots or techniques?

I have a 1648 Jon Boat with a 25 hp. So a short run would be best.

    Thanks,

You Go Dr. Whiskers! You sure know all about them rough fish. Especially those nasty golden walleye bottom feeders.

If you head out of the marina to the main channel, there are plenty of wing dams. Pretty much anything you will want to fish for will be on or around the wing dams.

If you hang a left right out of the marina you will go up in to Buffalo slough, decent enough spot for walleyes in the spring right at the head of the first channel you go through. It is very hit and miss though.
Wing dams on the main channel are a good bet as someone mentioned above as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but dont you have to get out to the main part of the Miss to legally fish for gamefish? Or is the marina and backwater area technically boarder water and open season?

It’s open season. All water between the railroad tracks.

Was down there today and caught a few Walleyes over 20 inches and some smaller brownies all within a literal “stones throw” from the marina docks. No big smallmouths though, I guess they all head up into the Croix to spawn?
