Anybody! I am new to this site, which by the way I found surfing for info on boats. I live in Kansas City, MO. There are some lakes here that boast good Walleye fishing and when I get my new boat I will certainly try those. However, I note that there is a lot of fish speek about pool 4 on the site. I know its on the Mississippi. I intend to visit MN again in the future and want to fish there. Minni is about 7 hours away depending on my speed and road construction. Have passed that way at least 22 times on the way to Canada and Duluth. Should I get a topo map of pool 4 and start my research there? What is the closest and best point to launch? Many thanks to Don Hanson and James Holst.

The hot spot map for pool 4 is a decent map, it will get you familar with spots being talked about. Both Baypoint and Colvill parks have good boat landings. Everts also is a good place to launch and find out about the latest bite. See you on the water!

Good pool choice.I was reading that The MN. D.N.R is now claiming that Pool 2 Thru 4 are possibly the best waters in the country for trophy eyes and numbers. Keep posting and reading reports [check areas on the hotspot maps]and you will be impressed.Try to make it to a weight-in when you visit and see what the river has to offer.

Thanks. Hope to do that this summer. Waiting for a new boat is far worse than watching paint dry!

Welcome to the site. The best way to learn an area is to hire a guide. Contact River Guiding on the home page of this site and the Flick clan should get you well started in the right direction.

I bet you could talk Jarrad into guiding you free. Yeap. Well, if you were to buy his “boat for sale” that is.

Rumor is he is a pretty good guide. I guess there are hundreds of walleyes with bandaids on their lips from his hooks.
