Water temps and spawn?

Haven’t been down that way in a couple of weeks, just wondering what current water temp is and anyones guess how far along we are in the spawn?

Looks like I’ve still seen photos from this previous week of egg-filled females.

Just thinking of bagging my monday-tuesday trip to the rainy and saving money and staying close to home by doing a multiple day trip on pool 4.

Just wondering if there are still some egg filled fatties left, or if it would be a post spawn situation.

    Thanks for any info

Had 51 degrees just outside Baypoint today. Male walleyes were making a mess of the boat, no females for me on this trip.

We had 50-51 on the temps. We got a 26 spawned out female and a 22 that was still full of eggs.

Last wednesday I brought home 4 walleyes that I thought were all males from 16 to 17 1/2 inches. Turned out the 17 1/2 was a spawned out females. The other 3 were males and not spraying.

Thanks guys, After work today going to make the decision to make the long haul north or not.

Either way I’ll be fishin, it’s just how long I’ll be in the truck.

I sure am lucky to have pool 4 as an option so close to home, hard to really call it a back up. What a fun winter and spring it’s been.

    Thanks for the heads up

Yesterday’s reports from P-4 show about 1/4 of the females caught have spawned.

All good fish, over 8 lbs have come from 15 fow or less with many coming from 2′ of water.

Plastics (Pulsars/Paddletails), jig and minnow and blades vertical jigged in less than 15 fow or pitched to the shoreline have been producing the larger fish.

If this is your first time out remember to check your boat registration, throwable device and if from WI your fishing license before hitting the water.

    Don’t forget to have fun!
