I have been out of town for the last week and a half missing the best fishing. 15th,16th and 17th I was pitching blades shallow 6′ and less down by the cans and did well but sunday sucked. My boy asked if we could go down this evening, plan on fishing till 10-12pm “got the life jackets, I know someone will remind me also (wife)”
Question is I have not done much up by the dam this year but in the past years up by the dam in the evening was good, got my personal best up there on the Y befor it had been washed out a 12.2 30″. Any one willing to share Ideas for this evening fishing being that I’m 2 weeks out of the loop?

I say along shorelines on each side of the main channel below the dam, and along the riprap on the MN side south of the lock. There is also the shoreline south of the Vermilion for over a 1/2 mile or more. Might also be some fish on the wingdams, up stream side.
    good luck

That is the Vermilion River where it enters the Miss River just below the Y (lock side and main channel come together)

yes the cannon and the vermilion come together about 100 yards or 200 yards from where they dump into the main channel of the mississippi.

the map looks like the cannon stays south of diamond island and most of it goes thru devils lake then cannon lake then joins Hay creek into the Miss R.
