I spent the afternoon on Clements fishing barge catching up with old freinds. Boy if the bite has gotten worse I sure wish I had been there when it was hot. Between talking with 8 or 10 Barge buddies I got one 4-5# Football, and six other keepers. Didn’t keep any. I was amazed at the end
of the day I didn’t see a single egg filled female leave the boat and a bunch were caught. I guess Mark,Karen, and Byron building their catch and release club up over the last ten years is really sinking in with people…..

Looks like everybody has gotten lock jaw. I’m still learning and not sure how much info to put on this site. I could not believe the boats between Genoa and Black Hawk Park. I have never seen so many. Must have been a hundred at the dam and there were boats all the way down to Dr Anders below Bad Axe then 40 to 50 and another 40 to 50 at Victory just above Black Hawk Park. All but one of the people we talked to weren’t doing much. Lots of hand-lining going on but the fish we saw were on jigs. Had a lot of grass in the water up at the dam. Are the walleyes out spawning now?

I was amazed by all the boats in that area as well on Saturday – and the lack of fish being caught for the number of boats. I was there for a couple of hours Saturday morning and got tired of manuevering around boats so left and went after bass – more productive. Did get a 24″ walleye before leaving though.
