Fished last night and it didn’t take long to figure out I wasn’t going to be able to do any jig dragging that I’ve been doing lately. So I found a current seam that was likely to have fish and hunkered down to do some pitching.
The fishing was non existant at first and it didn’t look very promising but I finaly picked up a pre spawn blade bait walleye around 8:00 p.m. Then things were pretty steady for a while after that but it wasn’t just walleye. It seemed like their was a little bit of everything coming through last night.
The next fish was a meaty northern that hit a blade bate at about 90 mph. Then a nice ring worm walleye. A little later picked up a 19″ smallmouth with a real attitude. A couple more low 20’s walleyes.
I was unable to land any big walleyes but lost a nice fish at the boat that probably went 26-27″ and 8-9lbs. I also had a fish miss my blade bait twice before chasing it down and hooking up with it on the third try. It was a heavy fish that was staying down with heavy head shakes before it pulled off. I’d like to think it was a giant walleye but with everything biting last night it’s hard to say.
Pool 4 fishing is still very good and if you can get out I don’t think you’ld be dissapointed.
