Was down there yesterday for the first time in a few years but I have fished it off ad on for 30 – man I’m getting old. Anyway it was slow yesterday but I saw a guy pop a nice 8# eye slow trolling a crank on the channel edge. Call ahead for bait if you use meat, they only have one game in town and yesterday they were out til 3 PM. We used hair jigs and plastic and picked up ten mostly small fish. Popped a nice sturgeon. Trolling bite should be prime in a week for you. Just follow the other trollers. Tourney down there this Saturday. Water temp was 41. Talking to the guy working the counter at the bait store and by looking at the pictures Alma has been doing very well for nice fish this spring up to this warming trend. Good luck

I am a big believer in hair at Alma but there are plenty of options

call the bait shop in town, they know. its some sort of qualifier event for the midwest. The final event is Alma / Redwing in fall.
