Headed down to the river this afternoon and on my way down I got a call from Jack and after some small talk i told him I was going fishing, he asked me if he come get in my boat and I told him come on down to everts and jump in, after meeting and greeting each other for the first time, we headed out to find some fish, didn’t take very long and we were putting some in the boat prepping for the evening bite, Jack is a great guy and a very good fisherman together we put some really nice fish in the boat, jack got a nice sauger over 18″ that he released and a solid 24″ released, kept a one man limit of 16″ to 17″ 4″ firecracker ringer charteuse tail best color tonight

Nice fish, Jack! Nice to meet you, too. (we stopped and chatted a bit with u and dan b4 leaving). I didn’t put a face and name together on the water, but as soon as I saw the pix, I did. I just didn’t recognize you without a big fish in front of ya, i guess

Not only good sticks in your boat…
but Jack can mount them and make the good Marinara Sauce too!
Nice going, I’m having a hard time waiting another month to get there!

Very nice. Seems the fish always cooperate for you! And the bigger fish only like to bite on the weekdays. Thanks for the daily reports and tips. It really helps the learning curve for those of us that can only fish once in a while!

Sounds like you gentlemen had a great evening. Hey Jack, it is good to see you holding a REAL fish for a change. Hoepfully Dan persuaded you to give up on those green carp and come over to the right side

    Dan
Thank-you for the opportunity to get a chance to meet you and share a few hours in your boat. I really enjoyed the late afternoon and evening.
I’ve got to tell everyone, if you are in Dan’s boat, you better be ready when you get there. Before I got my line wet, he had 2 fish in the boat and missed a third. TOO bad his over 10 pound Carp didn’t get boated, that would have been a nice pic. We had 6 different species of fish during our trip.
Like Dan said the Ringworm/ Firecraker with Char tail was the primary bait, mostly dragged down current, sometimes across it. Think we had 5 walleyes casting shorelines after sunset. With the only big one at 24″ and the others were solid eater size.
Thanks again Dan, Get after them, and again thanks for all the good reports this winter.

I was down for a couple hours this morning, took one of my church pastors. Was only able to fish from 10 to 2, but managed 8 fish in the boat. RWorms, same colors and pro blue Paddletails. Lots of boats were out, and the concenus was overall slow. Am sure things will pick up this evening.
