backwater areas on pool 4,Red Wing

I’ve been to pool 4 a couple of times now,with some limited sucess.With all the ice coming off the back-water areas,i am wondering if there is any walleyes that duck out of the current and can be found in these areas.And how do you go about catching them,i would think casting a husky jerk,or a shallow running shad rap into shollaw water might work ok.Has anyone ever had any luck in these back-water areas?How about where the river flows into lake Pepin,is this a good area also?
