Exactly how much fish do you have in your freezer at home?
I’m guessing very happy neighbors
Or they just end up in the trash can, like a pile of Hollywood’s….
I do not have an agenda or a horse in this race…but reading posts about limit after limit and pictures of 18 walleyes for 3 guys day after day seem a bit over the top. You said you got raided by the DNR…with posts like these, you may want to evaluate what and how you post. You are becoming a lightning rod for over-harvest and will probably continue to be targeted. (Not just RD, but anyone taking part in the Spring walleye run.) I too was a guide on the Sippi for a long while, and while guiding I would only take limits for my customers, clean the fish and send them on their way. I don’t hold myself up as any agent of virtue or anything, but I never had any issues with the DNR. I was once told I destroyed a spot on the Sippi due to my pictures of catch and release fish (Right BK?) but that aside…This weekend I counted 57 boats dragging where I would usually see less than 10. I am no one to tell anybody what to do, but I think a little sensitivity to this issue would go a long way with patrons of IDO. If you are doing this to promote your guide business, I suggest starting your own website and advertising on IDO. I have not chimed in on any of these post as I believe everyone here has the same rights as the next guy and the same opportunity to catch fish. But I have been hearing from a number of people that they are being rubbed the wrong way by posts that seem to reflect over harvesting. Not calling out RD personally, but I think we should all be sensitive to this perception.
That’s all I am saying. Not looking for this to turn this into a fight. It is my personal opinion, and I know everyone has one.
