Saturday morning my buddy Steve and I were headed upstream from a somewhat ice clogged 7th street landing to do some dragging at the Dresbach dam area! Once we got past the ultra thin ice floes we encountered near the big blue bridges, we set up for a downstream pull on the Wisconsin side from the willow point on down. When we got things going, Steve set the hook on the first walleye of the day, coming in at 15 1/2″….and so it began. After all was said and done, we released 3 walleyes over 20″, kept 4 for the dinner table and supplemented them with 5 really fat perch for his brother Tom, not to mention a good number of undersized walleyes we released.
The only strange happening of the trip is we never caught a sauger! HUH?!?
Still a great way to spend a Saturday in February! (pictures are of the released 20″+ fish)
Hang on, guys, it just gets better from here on out!
