Took a few friends out this afternoon and they were not disappointed to say the least. The fish bit real well the whole time, together we must of boated well over 50 fish and kept 19, what a great time on the water, nice weather, good friends and even had the grill going cooking brats

No damage that I can see, sure was wild hitting that big sheet of ice in the dark running wide open lifted the whole boat up! The new hulls on them Lunds are so tough, don’t believe a fiberglass would of made it though that!

Fiberglass will hold up more than any tin boat will…sounds crazy but actually saw a test done on that once online.

I seen the remnants, it was a big sheet of ice….pretty thick to. I don’t think I topped 7mph heading back to the back channel landing. Forgot the spotlight at home

I had a fiberglass boat years 14 years ago and I was on the water below freezing temp and a ice berg hit the side and cracked it cost 500 to get it fixed then a couple months later I delaminated the hull pounding big waves on the big pond, been nothing but lunds since, the sheet of ice I hit lifted the 1825 out of the water with me and 3 others in the boat real hard impact, just hard for me to believe at below freezing temps fiberglass could handle that

Probably should watch the “welded vs. riveted – which is better?” on the Ranger website…

Or we can just be happy that the fish are biting.
