Made a run north and got to Red Wing around sunset and made our milk run of stops until around 11 PM. The fish seemed to have shifted themselves more on rocks then the usual sand we fish. Every spot had fish on it ,but our last stop gave us a heck of a end to the night with around 15 fish in an hour. All over 17″ including a new PB 26″ for my buddy. He also had a 24″ right at sunset a couple of passes into the night. Guys in deeper water seemed to be getting saugers by the looks of it with a lot of sorting needed it seemed. we fish 10-12 ft of water at sunset and slid into 6-8ft later on. Overall a nice night on the water once the wind died down and not a boat around after 6PM to deal with.

Great job, isn’t it great how quickly the crowd thins, just before it really gets going.
I guess you answered my question as to how late those fish will bite.
I always figured it was just like night trolling in the fall, with peak periods throughout the night. Great job!
What a winter for fishing the river!
