Made it it out again last night, making the most of my time off of work, haven’t had a chance to fish this many days in a week in a very long time! I usually only have time to head down to pool 4 once a week. Thought I’d try to put my dad on some fish,, after a super bite Wednesday PM, and a solid outing on Sunday. SLOWED down considerably. Couldn’t really put together a decent pattern.

Thank goodness my father is easy to impress, he’s just happy to get out on water. We only boated 4 walleye/sauger and one pike. Same 16-18 inch class, lots of lite biters.

Tried a handful of spots with same results, wish we would have anchored and pitched blades to see if we could have triggered more bites.

Any body put anything together last night? Talked to one other boat and seemed similar “one here/one there” bite.

Anyways all fish were released, probably wil give it go again next week, unless I can get out on pool 2.

What a winter for river fishing it has been, almost February, it won’t be long and the real fun will begin!

Mike, I went by 494 today….still skim ice and larger sheets throughout, with mutiple days of warmth and wind could be fishable.
    Not looking very fishable yet.

New I forgot to do something this afternoon. Anyone been by hidden falls lately? Some years that stays open pretty good.

Haven’t been down there. Took a drive to Lilydale a couple weeks ago and fairly iced in. Could imagine HF might be open though.

Hidden falls has about 15 feet of ice you would have to drag a boat over. The channel is wide open up there and the Minnesota is wide open too. If a landing got opened up you could fish right now.
