Just to let you know, Rootski and I were on poll 2 last night and it’s totally ice free. The bad news is the fishing is slow, only one 20″ eye. But hell we were in the boat on pool 2 on 12/30/11.

Thanks Gary. Was thinking about heading out later today but looks like the forecast changed. Did you see the weather coming in for later this week? Nice warm spell coming in then.

I saw that Mike, good news. The way it’s going we might be able to get out most of the winter.

I charged the battery in my flasher but it looks like I might not need it this “winter”.

Looks like a real warm week again this week starting Tuesday and the winds tomorrow should keep the ice formation to a minimum. Now we just got to figure out whare the walters are and what they want. It has been a slow couple of weeks. But hey, we aren’t even supposed to be out there!

Anyone been by 494 lately. Hoping to get out this afternoon. Got to love this weather this year.

I was there yesterday morning Mike and there was thin ice all over the place. But it seemed to be the type that would have melted by today or at the latest tomorrow. I might call Rootski to see if he could run by after work.

Plenty of ice still floating around but no problem getting the boat in. Need to be careful running around the river as there is lot of 1 to 2″ thick ice floating around. Hopefully more of it will go away in the next day or two.

As far as the fishing goes we where able to get in on the tail end of a vertical jigging bit this afternoon before moving onto the wingdams. In three drifts we had 4 to 5 nice walleyes and saugers. Hope to spend more time checking this out this weekend.
