I took advantage of the unseasonably warm temps the last two days checking out the winter walleye action. It has been fun fishing places that normally would have had ice covering them for a month already. The bite has been steady with a few real nice eyes cooperating. Today most of the fish came pitching ringworms to rock early in the morning. The best thing about winter is I have not seen a walleye boat for two days. 3/16 ounce jigs with ringworm produced most of are fish today. With the river so low look for areas with flow that is where the active fish seem to be. Here are a couple of pic’s from the last two days. The big one was 27.25 inches and weighed 8.55 lbs. NICE! I’ve been waiting for someone to post some big guys.

That is funny. When I was scrolling on the laptop, and came to the thumbnails I thought I didn’t realize the Mississippi went through the mountains. It was after I saw the bigger picture, I saw he was hiding a landmark. Nice fish. I haven’t been able to find any big fish lately on the river.

Well thanks again for the ride. It sure was nice to fish without a 30mph wind. They sure do look purty this time a year.
