mostly Ive not done well fishing that mudline… Ive found other more productive spots…. at least thats been my experience… Ive caught a few fish there… but LOTS more snags than anything else….
Zero luck on the mudline. Decent luck at the newly downed trees on the far shore (30’+ hole)-but I lose 10 jigs/walleye! I have had excellent luck w/ cranks on the Pike Island shore right above the confluence early in the year when the water level comes down.
Never fished that area, but if you ever make it to the Missouri river/Dakotas on Oahe/Sharpe/Francis Case waters then definetly fish the mudlines-very productive during the day.
The mudline you are refering to hasn’t produced fish for me. I think because the water on the Mississippi is always so dirty. As Brian stated, on the Missouri river reservoirs the mudlines are distinct clarity changes. Fishing mudlines out there is a must on those reservoirs. These mudlines provide cover for baitfish and the eyes hang out on the edge ambushing baitfish as they come out of the mud….. Just a thought though.
