I received the permit in the mail today for the tournament, so it’s a go! I also added the forecast for the next few days. The temps aren’t too bad, but flurries/rain off and on. Hope to see a bunch of you on Saturday morning. Tournament starts at 7. Just show up to enter. The fee is $20/boat.

Well it’s 1AM here thurs night/friday morning. It has been raining/snowing/thundering/lightening/sleeting. Not as bad as it sounds. There is only about 1/4 inch of slush.

The bite has been getting a little better. The walleyes still seem to be hard if not impossible to catch. Talked to one boat yesterday that had 3-4 eyes though that were legal. The sauger bite is quite a bit better than it was! That’s not saying a wholel lot, BUT…..quite a few boats have reported some 18-19 inch sauger. One boat two days ago said they had 18-20 sauger over 15 inches. So that is a good sign. If you’re lucky enough to get a big eye or two, you just might have a chance at winning the tournament. Although somebody always seems to “find em” the day of a tournament, so we’ll see what happens. Maybe the fish needed this weird weather to wake them up! Maybe they will think that thunder means it’s May!! Lets hope so! Good Luck to all! Cya Saturday!

    Jeff

As of wednesday the WI channel was froze tight just north of 5th cut and as far north as I could see. Looked like fairly solid ice. That was two days ago though…

I’m not sure about 3 to a boat. I’m not the one in charge of the rules for that. Not sure if that guy visits this site often or not. Maybe somebody that fished it in the past could help you out…..anyone?

Oh ya, and you don’t need a WI license to launch here.

Tuck- see the tournament form. It went, and the results and pictures are posted there.
