What a day, had some rain, sleat and snow, took two guys out, one of which has never been down on 4 but after a couple hours he was impressed with the fishery, nothing big today but picked up 11 decent ones 18″ down to 15″, four of which were walleyes, sorted through alot of fish. Pearl paddletails tipped with a minnow worked well for us! Little bit of snow in the pic gray carpet

Yeah, the snow was fun for a while…looking forward to warmer weather this coming week.

We caught some fish though…saugers and crappies mainly. And the largemouth bass were on a tear too.

Guess I need to fire up the wood furnace in the garage to thaw the boat tomorrow…

I got the chance to ride along with Redneck in the winter wonderland yesterday. We caught quite a few smaller fish, and managed to scrape up a few eaters too. He did manage put me on one nice fish before the snow rolled in She hit a chartreuse ring worm and she was not messing around. Thanks for letting me ride along Redneck Talk to you soon

Nice job guys. After breaking ice launching my boat on Friday night on Mille Lacs. I am certain that my open water year up there is done, and I will be focusing on pool#4. Sadly looking forward to having to avoid people in a white Ranger Reatta from IA slamming into my boat twice in 5 minutes again this year. I will be down Friday.

You were a real trooper yesterday Russ! The picture of that fish did not do her justice—she was a real chunk. For anyone that is interested we were still reading water temps around 43 or 44 so the bite is still improving. This is a crazy Fall but I honestly feel the best is yet to come unless Mother Nature throws us a terrible curve ball.
