Well, how aobut a post from someone who is doing well on P4. Two boats were down this afternoon and had a total of 3 fish. The reports heard shouting BTB (Boat To Boat) seemed to indicate blades doing the best, but we got our two fish on small crappie jigs in chartreuse… Go figure.

I’m thinking that there is a lot of shad forage that is keeping the bite down.

Any other theories, besides temperature?? Could be ten degrees cooler and it would help…

I was up on Saturday…..miss Dean, what the heck are they building, and where is the bite! Saw guys fishing jigs, sonars, jiggin spoons, 3 ways, and pulling cranks up the channel….nobody was lighting ’em up….

Is it too early in the season? I tend to agree with the shad comment! Had never foul hooked a shad before Saturday.

hey stu, our walleye searchers club had a tourny sat. and we all caught fish but nobody hammered them! we had 8 boats fish and had a total of 16 fish. reason i replied is that there is still a good crappie bite going on for those who are interested. we caught slabs on moxies and sonars.

good luck everybody and lets hope the eye bite pics up!!

I would venture to guess the low water keeps alot of them down in the lake. Super low water on a river or lake IMO, is never good for fishing.
It is the same on the MN river where I fish. Has been slower this year with the low water. Sucks. Doubt you will see that suicide sauger bite this year that people have become accustomed to.

My intentions here are not to say anybody is wrong but do not let yourself believe that those fish are not biting. There is a patter to be had you may just have to go outside the box to figure it out!!! Location, time of day and presentation is all key right now…. Not where you were catching them and how you were catching them a month ago. If things are slow where your sitting and your baits not getting eaten up, do something totally different then the crouds. Might be supprised!!! I caught a few over that 28 mark this last week on a Chart x-rap ripping and pausing the bait in 2-5 fow because of all the shad!! If your finding this bait the fish are there you just have to get them to trigger!!
