I’ve been fishing like a madman this season, only thing is I am usually chasing bass. After getting out on pool 2 recently and catching a walleye over 6 pounds on three consecutive trips, I am going to work on my walleye crankin’ setup. When casting to wingies and rip rap what set up do you guys use? I’m thinking of #5 and #7 shadraps and smaller hornets. So far I have been trying a 6′ 6″ medium spinning rod with a 3000 symetre and 20lb. Power pro braid. I am really interested in which type of line people have had success with and also if there are any other popular cranks for fishing rock on the river. On a sad note, I lost which easily would have been my biggest eye’ ever. Caught an 8lb. 5oz. last week and this one dwarfed her. Someday I’ll get a double digit. Today just wasn’t my day

Not sure right now off the top of my head what rod I use however I like using hi-viz fireline or power pro. I like to be able to track my line in the water easier. I use this for hair jigs also. I know people like to throw bombers.

Been fishing the wingies on P-2 also throwing light cranks to wingies. I have been very impressed this season when I added the Loomis GWPR843 to my arsenal of Walleye rods and has been the main staple rod as of late to my guide business on the river. They are 7fters with a moderate fast blank that loads nicely for the light stuff to toss and a deeper flex for some forgiveness as not to pull the crank out boatside that tends to happen with stiffer rods. Teamed up with a Shimano Ci4 2500 and spooled up with Power Pro 15/4 has provided a winning combo for me.
