Anyone know how the red wing dam bite is? I know it gets hot and is stacked with boats at this time of year but I wasn’t sure exactly when. Thanks, Rob

Its been pretty hit and miss for me, one day alot of nice keepers other days tough bite, it shoud be noted I have fished with just plastics this spring looking for big mama, but from what I saw yesterday nobody is really nailing the fish with the usual presentations right now. The weather was beautiful though and it was nice to be out!

I echo BigPike… quite inconsistent from one day to the next and the big girls just aren’t showing up with any numbers of regularity at all yet. Lots of solid fish one day with a few 4 – 4.5 Lb fish mixed in and the next day it’s tougher going with a reduced average size & numbers.

Today was one of the better days up here in quite awhile. Lots of keeper fish coming in, but not much for the big girls as mentioned above. Lots of 1-2 man limits being caught today with a good quality size to the fish. Look for things to get better and better as the water warms up.

i was there 3-24 and started to see a shallow bite with some nicer fish caught and released. 10′-3’along a sand bar some were taken as deep as 20′. also i worked up from the vermilion and the current break right at the vermilion. it was not a fast bite but did pick up some bigger females and nice male waleyes. we ended up filling out on eaters and released a few.
