i have fished pool 4 several times in the last 4 days with mixed results. Thursday me and a fellow walleye searchers club member Dale hit pepin about 4:30 and decided to cover ground and troll cranks. we caught mostly dinks here and there and eventually found the fish were liking a speed of about 3 MPH. we landed a couple decent fish at this speed in 16-22 FOW then right as the sun was setting my shorty rod got smashed after a long battle and at least a half a dozen boat side runs we landed her taped her quickly took a quick pic and released her, she splashed me goodbye too!

on sat. i fished wabasha with my neighbor Kelly, hitting up wing dams with live bait, we did well early boating several nice fish from 19 to 22″ these fish came on half of crawlers, leaches were doing nothing for us. we also caught pleanty of saugers from 14 to 18″ after the wing dam bite died we headed out to the lake to do some trolling we caught nothing and decided to try vertical jigging a point that we were marking allot of fish on in 32 FOW we caught bass sheep head and blue gills there no size to the gills though
we called it a day and headed home kelly took a few fish home for the hot grease release all other fish were released.

saturday i headed back to the wing dams with Dale again and had nothing and gave up on this at about 11 and headed to the lake. It was a good choice we trolled 20 to 24 FOW and instantly started to pic fish up we had a 22 ” sauger our second pass and after several passes had them really dialed in. i then hooked into a big fish thinking it was probably a sheep head or big striper we were really suprised to see a pig eye around 28″ when Dale went to net the fish the net raped around itself and he accedently through the big girl like a tennis ball right back into the water, owell we got to see her! the same thing happened to friends of ours with a 26″. all our fish sun were released to fight another day!

Good luck to anybody heading out!

Nice fish. I have been keeping busy in pool 3 but it is good to see reports of nice fish coming from pool 4 again.

I guess I’m going to have to put a tracking device in your boat Drew. Well done!

While I’m sure all your spots are worth many thousands. I’m not sure they are worth that many thousands. I’ll trade a spot/ride. How’s that?
